Crowned and Commissioned

Crowned and Commissioned

👑 Crowned & Commissioned👑

 – a writing for women, by Beth Stafford, Women’s Ministries

đź‘‘ You don’t earn the crown—you wear it. đź‘‘

In the world, you are often commissioned before you are crowned.

You work.

You prove yourself.

You earn your place.

But in God’s Kingdom… it’s upside down.

You are crowned first—and then commissioned.

That’s where so many of us get stuck.

We live like we have to earn what God has already given.

We strive, we perform, we try to prove we’re worthy—hoping that one day we’ll finally feel ready for God to use us.

But God never asked us to earn what He has already declared.

Throughout Scripture, we see this pattern again and again:

God establishes identity before assignment.  Before you do anything—you are His.

Before you step into your calling—you are already chosen.

Before you are sent out—you are already crowned as a daughter of the King.

And when we truly understand that… everything changes.

We don’t serve to be accepted. We serve because we already are

đź‘‘ The Crown You Forgot You Hadđź‘‘

Imagine a young woman who inherits a crown—priceless, chosen just for her.

But no one ever tells her.

So she lives like it’s not hers.

And the crown sits on a shelf… collecting dust.

Until one day someone asks:

“Why aren’t you wearing what’s already yours?”

The issue wasn’t that she didn’t have a crown…. It’s that she didn’t know it belonged to her.

How often do we do the same?

đź‘‘ Positioned on Purposeđź‘‘

We see this so clearly in Esther’s life.

She was an orphan—unknown, overlooked.

And yet, all along, God was positioning her.  She wasn’t just placed… she was positioned.

When the moment came, she didn’t feel ready.  But she was willing.

And her story reminds us:

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”  Esther 4:14

You are not where you are by accident

đź‘‘ Your True Identityđź‘‘

Scripture tells us:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession…”. 1 Peter 2:9

Let that sink in.

You don’t earn the crown.

You receive it. Identity comes before action.

So let me ask you:

What crown has been sitting on the shelf in your life?

⸻

đź‘‘ When I Forgot Who I Wasđź‘‘

There was a season in my life when I didn’t feel crowned—I felt like a mess.

I believed I had failed as a mom because of a choice my daughter made.

And because of that, I convinced myself I was unqualified to pour into other women.

I believed the lie that our mistakes define us forever.

So I held back.

I kept my story to myself—especially the hard parts.

I even pulled away from my sisters in Christ.

But God…

He gently showed me something different.  My identity wasn’t based on how I felt.  Or even on what I had done.

And certainly not on what my daughter had done.

It was based on who He says I am.

Still His daughter.

Still chosen.

Still loved.

Still able to be used by Him.

And little by little, I began to walk differently.

Not perfectly—but confidently in Him.

Out of one of my darkest seasons, God brought one of my greatest blessings.

I didn’t become someone new…

I just started wearing what was already mine.

đź‘‘ Created on Purposeđź‘‘

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us:

“For we are God’s masterpiece… created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

You are His masterpiece—that’s your identity.

And your purpose? Already prepared.

Nothing about your life is accidental.

đź‘‘ Living Commissionedđź‘‘

Like Esther, your purpose is already in motion. You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to be willing.

It may look like:

   â€˘   Speaking truth

â€˘   Encouraging someone who is struggling

   â€˘   Sharing your faith

â€˘   Standing firm when it’s hard

You are not waiting to be chosen… You already are.

đź‘‘ Straighten Your Crownđź‘‘

So when the enemy rattles you…

When insecurity creeps in…

When you forget who you are…

Remember whose you are.

Reach up—

and straighten your crown.

And here’s something beautiful:

Sometimes our sisters’ crowns get a little tilted too. When you see that?

Gently fix it—quietly, in love.

Because sometimes lifting someone up isn’t about words… it’s about love in action.

đź‘‘ A Simple Prayerđź‘‘

Father, thank You that we are Your masterpiece—Your daughters.

Help us walk confidently in both our identity and our purpose.

Remind us daily that we are crowned and commissioned.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

đź‘‘ If this spoke to you, consider sharing it with someone who might need help straightening their crown today.đź‘‘
