Inspire New England Weekend with Phil Brookman
Sermon Series: Harvest | Sunday Message: Good News
This past weekend, we were honored to welcome Phil Brookman, preaching minister at Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, OK, as the keynote speaker for our Inspire New England conference. With nearly two decades of ministry experience and a passion for interpreting ancient Scripture in ways that are fresh, relevant, and transformative, Phil brought timely encouragement to our church and guests.
Across three compelling messages, Phil led us through a series titled “Harvest,” challenging us to think deeply about evangelism, spiritual formation, and God’s mission in our everyday lives.
In “A Worthy Task,” Phil invited us to reconsider the theology of “lostness”—a concept often dismissed in our modern world. Drawing from Luke 10 and Luke 19, he reminded us that Jesus used this term not to condemn but to express profound love and longing for those who are far from God.
In “A Bold Prayer,” Phil explored how the harvest of souls must begin with the prayers of God’s people. He showed how Scripture links intercession with action, urging us to be people who pray with purpose and participate with courage.
In “An Open Door,” he reminded us that we are seed-planters, not outcome-controllers. Using Colossians 4 and Matthew 28, Phil emphasized that most of God’s transformative work happens through small, faithful acts in our ordinary rhythms.
Phil concluded the weekend with a Sunday morning sermon titled “Good News,” drawing from Jesus’ interactions and parables to affirm that the gospel is not just good advice—it is life-altering news. Through Jesus Christ, we are offered hope, healing, and belonging. The call to share this message is not reserved for a select few but is embedded in the identity of every follower of Christ.
If you’re searching for hope, direction, or a deeper purpose, we invite you to join us.
The message of Jesus is not just for the already faithful—it’s for all of us. Whether you’re curious, skeptical, or simply searching, you are welcome here.
Come worship with us each Sunday at 9:30 AM at the Manchester Church of Christ. We would love to meet you, walk with you, and help you discover the good news of Jesus for your own life.
You do not have to have it all together to come to Christ—just come.
