What are your spiritual gifts? How is God using your spiritual gifts to serve His church? Are you serving in ministry areas that benefit from your unique spiritual gifts? In Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth, he provides instructions regarding spiritual gifts:
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of ministries, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
According to scripture, the Spirit of God dwells in those who have been baptized into Christ, our Lord and Savior (1 Corinthians 12:13 and 3:16). It is a gift from God “for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Paul instructs Christians to understand how God has given His Holy Spirit to work within and through them so that we can help one another, and God has given different people different gifts that are needed for the Gospel to spread. As an outpouring of love towards God and his people, Paul says he will “show you a more excellent way” in his commitment and service as an example, and we are to do the same. Repeatedly, scripture commands Christians to use their spiritual gifts in the various ministries of the church. The beauty of the church is we do not all have the same gifts. There is no benefit in comparing gifts, but the blessing is how we use our gifts to glorify God and His Kingdom. What ministry areas would benefit from your involvement and spiritual gifts? Find your gift and give it away!
