Authentic Community: Identity

Authentic Community: Identity

As the Body of Christ, we are called to be a community of believers where people can discover, embrace, and grow into their identity and purpose in Jesus Christ. But what truly defines who we are? Is it our nationality, culture, gender, profession, accomplishments, or how others perceive us? Too often, we create a carefully curated version of ourselves, intentionally or unintentionally, that we believe will be accepted by others while hiding our struggles, insecurities, and true selves.

Yet, this carefully constructed image of ourselves can hinder the authenticity and depth of our relationships within the Body of Christ. Jesus invites us to come as we are, and Scripture calls us to put away falsehood and speak truthfully to one another. He already knows the real you, and He still loves you still. Together, we will explore what it means to find our true identity in Christ and cultivate a church community where we can be genuine, vulnerable, and graciously accepted as we are being transformed in Him.
