Abundant Life 10.28.2018

The old sage saying is true: “If you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it every time.”

It’s easy to stay busy in this society we live in. There’s no shortage of things to do. The trouble is that many of us seem to have too much to do. The list of duties occupying our days changes as we age and move into different phases of life, but the list never seems to get much shorter, does it?

Sometimes it feels like we’re always on the go but getting nowhere.

There is, you know, a remedy for that.

In this morning’s sermon text (Acts 20:17-38), we find a touching glimpse into a final farewell between partners in the gospel. It’s there that I think we can learn some things about getting to a place in life where we feel God’s contentment and peace no matter what’s swirling around us.

If you want that peace and are willing to work for it, God will provide. Just be sure to set your sights on the right things.
