A God Who Restores Our Soul
Bible Class Begins @ Time Stamp 1:05:30
As my three-year-old son alternates between bouncing and running from one place to another with seemingly no end in sight, I regularly hear a comment like, “If I only had half of his energy…” Well, many of us do not have even half of his energy. We get tired, worn down, and depleted. This happens in many areas of our lives. Whether it is work, school, family, or stress, there are simply times when we lack the drive to do what needs to be done.
The same is true for our spiritual lives. In fact, I suspect that much of our societal exhaustion contributes to our spiritual fatigue. Whatever the reasons, we are in need of a God who can restore our strength. Thankfully, we have a God who understands this and is able to restore us when it is needed.
But, how does he do this? How does he restore our souls? That is the topic of today’s lesson. While not an exhaustive lesson, my hope and prayer are that it is practical. But as we go through the lesson, please think about how much you truly want the restoration which God has to offer. Do you want his peace? His comfort? His strength? If so, why do you want it? Is it only to pursue your goals, or is it also for God’s glory?
