It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Last Sunday we talked about living in ways that pursue the most important things. That means that we worship and obey God rather than idolizing any other thing. ANY. THING. Even good things can become an unhealthy pursuit if we aren’t careful. Having said that, it may seem strange for me to entitle this weekend’s sermon in this way: “Live Like Kings and Inherit the Kingdom.”

But that’s what I did, and I’m not taking it back. 🙂

If you want something fun to talk about with a friend or with your family tonight, ask these questions and see where the discussion leads you:
1) What does it mean to “live like a king?”
2) Can you give an example of someone who “lives like a king?”
3) According to Scripture, who is our true king?
4) When Jesus lived among us, how did he live?
5) Was Jesus “living like a king” at that time?

During my sermon time on Sunday, I hope to help redefine what it means for us to “live like kings” in light of Jesus’ teaching and example. Our text comes from Matthew 25. Read it, and I imagine it will get your attention as it does mine; because, if we will live like the King, we will inherit the kingdom.

God bless,
Patrick
