I really do hope you’ve had a great week so far. As I write this, we’re getting some much-needed rain, and I imagine most of us are happy that it isn’t snow this time.
The calendar says it’s Springtime, and I, for one, am looking forward to nature catching up.
Whether you enjoy New England winters or not, one good thing that comes from five or six months of barren trees and brown grass is a real appreciation for the new growth and new life of Spring. It’s fun to see the natural world wake up all around us. You get to see the birds making their nests and the flowers breaking out of their sodden tombs. Even we usually get busy cleaning house or
de-cluttering and pushing through what always seems like a fast-moving time of year.
It’s the same in the life of the church. This is a really busy time for us, and we’ll all have many opportunities to learn, worship, fellowship, laugh, and serve together. In the bulletin attached to this message, you can find all kinds of events coming up, and it would be great if we all showed up for them. Well, it might be weird if all the guys showed up for the ladies’ day, but you know what I mean.
Even this weekend we have a big event coming as we host the year’s first “Area-Wide Worship.” It’s this Sunday night at 5:00 in our building. It will be mostly singing, but there will be a short message from the Word, too. And then we’ll have supper together with anyone who can stay, and we’ll be able to enjoy that special kind of fellowship when sister congregations come together in unity and love. Don’t you want to be a part of that? I do. Come rain or come shine, Lord willing, I’ll be there, and I hope you will, too.
