Mark 10:17-31, Who Do You Love?
Welcome to worship this morning at Manchester. If you are visiting, please let us know if you have any questions or if we can be of service in any way. God has blessed us, and he teaches us to do our best to be a blessing to our neighbors. Some of you may have been at our Free Tag Sale yesterday, and we’re so glad that you came back to praise God with us. Everybody needs a spiritual home and community to grow with, and we’d love to study with you about how you can find peace, comfort, and purpose by living as a disciple of Jesus.
During the sermon time this morning, we’re going to talk about one of the real challenges we all wrestle with when it comes to living as a disciple of Jesus. We could call this particular challenge a lot of different things. It has to do with wealth, greed, selfishness, self-sufficiency, idolatry, security, and love. That last item is really at the root of Jesus’ teaching here, because we tend to focus on the things we love most.
What do you love more than anything else?
How do you know?
How do you change things if the thing you love most is the wrong thing?
Hopefully we’ll be able to come up with some good answers to those challenging questions this morning. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.
God bless,
Mark 10:17-31, Who Do You Love?
