God’s Education Plan
What is the value of a child to God? Have you ever thought of that before? In one sense, it is hard to fathom. Our love is incomplete. His love is perfect.
Our love may be mixed with selfishness while his love is sacrificial.
Our love is broken and His love is pure.
God’s desire for children, which grows out of his immeasurable love,
is clear within his word. His desire is for all to come to know him and
choose to walk with him throughout their lives. His desire is to
protect his children through their trust in him. And we know this
trust and faith leads to an eternal life with him.
But how do we get to the place that he desires? How do we get to a
place of absolute trust? How do we get to a place where everything
revolves around a full dedication to him and his ways so that all of
his desires can become a reality? We must grow. God’s desire for
his children, both young and old, is to grow into the image of Jesus
(Rom. 8.29). The answer may be simple, but the process requires
continual effort. As a church family, our influence on our children
toward this goal is significant. Not everything, but significant.
Knowing this, I ask you to consider one final question. Does our
effort match God’s desire?
