For Such a Time as This with Dr. Jerry Taylor – Sound gets turned on at 4:30 – Ezekiel 37:1-14
I hope and pray that you feel inspired, Church! That’s what this whole weekend is about—inspiring one another to be strong and steadfast in our ongoing work for the Lord.
If you aren’t actively working for God, you need to talk to me this week so we can get you equipped for the battle. As we talked about at length back in the summer, we are not at war with one another, but we are in a cosmic conflict with the “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). We know that those spiritual battles take place right here in this place and time. If we are unequipped and unprotected, we’re unlikely to survive the fight. But there’s good news! God has given us all we need to continue to stand strong and march into enemy territory as the Lord works to expand his kingdom. You are in the battle whether you want to be or not, so you might as well align yourself with the One who will be victorious.
We are blessed here at Manchester to have many pieces in place that will enable us to grow in ministry and in faith, but we cannot waste any time or any advantage we have. As long as the world keeps turning, there are people all around us who need desperately to experience God’s love and hear God’s good news of peace and inclusion in his family. The Lord has raised us up to be his men and women right here, right now, for such a time as this. We cannot be our best self as a church unless you are suited up and standing shoulder to shoulder with us. Again, I’m here to help you rise to the occasion and find your place in God’s good work. Give me a call and we’ll get started. — Patrick Barber
