Mark 14:1-11, A Special Blessing
Hello, Church. We always have many things to be thankful for, and the grace of being called to worship in peace this morning is near the top of the list. Today we are excited to worship our God together and to celebrate the significant moment that comes the last Sunday in August each year: Promotion Sunday & Sixth Grade Blessing. We have four incoming sixth graders who will now be able to join the Youth Group, and we want to keep Madeline, Nishan, Meah, and Emmanuel in our prayers as they enter this new stage of their faith journey. We, as their church family, have the blessed opportunity to encourage and equip them as they grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We’re also excited for all of the children who will be moving up into new classes, meeting new teachers, and learning new things about the God who made them and saves them. If you brought a child with you today, make sure you stay for Bible class so he/she can have that opportunity to grow in the Lord and make good friends for the journey.
We are also continuing our sermon series through the Gospel of Mark, and we’ll be in Mark 14:1-11 where we find a special story about a special woman who anointed Jesus with a special blessing. My prayer is that God helps us hear this story the way he intends it to be heard so that we grow in our ability to love as he loves and see as he sees—a common goal of any study in the life of Jesus.
As is always the case, if you need my help or the help of the church in any way, please reach out and let us know. My cell is 316-200-7780, and my email is patrick@manchestercofc.org. God bless.
