Senior Hike and Brown Bag Picnic Lunch

Date: Thursday, July 10, 2025

Location: Park and meet at the parking lot at 51 Church Street, Vernon

Starting time for hike: 10:30 a.m.

Starting time for lunch: Noon – If you aren’t a hiker, join us for lunch!

Bring: A sack lunch. Plates, water and iced tea, potato salad and fruit will be provided. 

We’ll head up the Hop River trail for 30-40 minutes one way and then come back the same way. The trail is a wide, shaded “rail-to-trail” crushed gravel trail. There is a very slight incline, but when we turn around, it will be slightly downhill back to lunch! If you don’t want to hike the whole 30 or 40 minutes one way, you can head back whenever you like. And please join us for lunch even if you aren’t going to hike. There are a few picnic tables at the parking area we’ll eat at (at noon for those meeting us just for lunch).
