Sovereignty

God’s sovereignty is a fundamental aspect of our faith, and embracing it can bring profound peace and hope to our lives. When we acknowledge that God is in control and has a plan for our lives, we can trust that everything will work out for our good.

As Psalm 139:16 reminds us, He saw our body as it was formed. All the days planned for us were written in His book before we lived one.

By recognizing God’s authority and purpose, we can experience a deeper sense of trust and faith.

Here are 7 steps to help us live under God’s sovereignty:

1) Recognize His authority and receive His peace. “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬‬

2) Trust in His grace, mercy, and love. God’s sovereignty is not just about control, but also about His love and grace, especially in moments of suffering or difficulty.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬

 3) Live with an obedient heart, always seek His guidance and know He delights in you. “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zephaniah‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭

4) Accept His will, even when it’s different from our own.  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.  Proverbs 19:21

5) Pray and seek comfort in Him. “Rejoice  always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will  for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭

6) Apply Scripture to everything we do.  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭

7) Live in gratitude, acknowledging God’s blessings in our lives. By embracing God’s sovereignty, we can experience a more profound sense of peace, hope, and purpose in our lives. And give your loyalty to God, as Jesus said:  “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭

Sovereignty is God’s alone.
