To understand is to perceive the meaning of something; to grasp the idea of something, or to comprehend something.
Let’s perceive the meaning of what God wants us to understand about Psalm 139.
“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!” Psalms 139:1, 13, 16-17 23
Let’s grasp the idea that God plans things out.
Like Jeremiah; He has a plan for each one of us, and it is perfect and wonderfully designed.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
And, it is critical that we comprehend the fact that we are God’s Masterpiece.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10
Although it hurts our brains to try to understand God, we can love His plan and trust His ways; knowing…
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
“Only God understands the way to wisdom, and he alone knows where it lives, Then he said to humans, ‘The fear of the Lord is wisdom; to stay away from evil is understanding.'” Job 28:23, 28
God holds all wisdom and understanding, and to understand this is enough.
