Follow
Determine in your mind now to follow what is good.
“Dear friends, don’t let bad examples influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.” 3 John 1:11
Test what you follow with God’s word and by the Spirit He has placed in you.
“It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
God does not ask us to follow Him blindly, to figure things out on our own, or to trust the wisdom of others. He equips us with His own words, shares His perfect wisdom with us, and sent His only Son to redeem us.
What God does not do, is make our choice for us. Who we follow is up to us.
I am with Joshua on this one. “If you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
We must all choose who or what we will follow; because we all will follow someone or something.
Jesus says “follow me” twenty-one times in the four gospels. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father, without going through Him. John 14:6
