Gifts. They come in all shapes and sizes, but if the one giving the gift loves you, you’re blessed. If the gift-giver loves you and knows you well and is able and eager to give you what you need, then you are blessed beyond belief. So, consider yourself blessed beyond belief, because God is the one who has graciously gifted you for life and ministry.
Peter the Apostle wrote, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 4:10-11).
Lord willing, on Sunday we’ll talk more about knowing our gifts and putting them to good kingdom use. We’ll also have the honor of affirming/ordaining four new deacons who are tasked with helping the church grow in faithfulness and ministry as they model servant-leadership for all of us.
Sunday should be another great day to gather together as God’s chosen people as we praise him and encourage one another. I hope to you will join us for worship!
In Christ,
Patrick
