I started as the youth minister at Manchester Church of Christ on October 20, 2013. I grew up going to church and was baptized summer of 2004. The summer of 2005 I felt called to go into ministry and I attended Oklahoma Christian University from 2009-2012 where I graduated with a B.S in Youth and Family Ministry. My favorite passage is 1 Peter 4:7-11.
One of the most important tasks for the church is to pass on the faith and through my experience youth ministry is one of the most effective ways to go about that. Like our youth group purpose says I believe teens are to be “examples of Christ to the world” and it is up to the church to walk with and equip them. Teens are not just the “church of tomorrow” but are a valued part of what God is doing today. My favorite part of our program is the emphasis we put on attending youth rallies throughout the year (think teens from a bunch of churches hanging out and learning about Christ together) and spending time with fellow Christians from across the Northeast.
Outside of ministry I am a big geek (I even co-host a podcast about it) and am an avid gamer who plays a lot of video, board, and cards games. I also play ultimate as much as I can and play tennis with Patrick from time to time. I have visited 7 different countries and my favorite was a two-week mission trip to Sophia, Bulgaria during one of my internships.
